Local churches work with us to share the gospel through mercy ministry

One of our main goals for Hope for Guatemala is to help the surrounding evangelical churches engage in mercy ministry as they share the gospel - to bring word and deed ministry together.

Today we have volunteers from three local churches, including my home church Lluvias de Gracia, one of Guatemala's largest churches. Lluvias is choosing us to be the outreach ministry arm of their church.

The other churches are engaging with us to serve our community in Zone 18, sending volunteers and material resources to help minister to the needs of the families. Volunteers serve in our tutoring program, help with special events, and contribute much needed food, clothes and supplies for the ministry and the families we serve.

Several area churches and ministries are implementing our ministry model. One ministry from a neighboring community is sending their staff and volunteers to learn from us. Although they have been in existence for more than 8 years, they believe our ministry structure is bringing more lasting change to the people we serve. What a testimony to God's faithful leading! We are honored and humbled to be working together to see the gospel message spread through word and deed.
